five daily grounding rituals to connect body and mind

Life is a marathon, not a race. Sometimes you need to slow down to achieve your goals. Here are five grounding rituals to help you feel stronger, clearer and more balanced:

1. Tune in to your breath.

When you wake up, spend at least one minute tuning in to your breath. This can be as simple as focusing on taking deep breaths. If you’re unfamiliar with mindful breathing, you can use this video.

2. Dance to your favourite song.

Before your work day starts, turn on your favourite track and dance it out. This sets the tone for your day and you’ll feel more rooted in your body.

3. Take the morning light in.

Every morning, aim to spend 10 minutes taking in the morning light. Whether you step out onto your street or sit in front of an open window, you’ll reap the benefits.

4. Nourish your body mindfully.

Make yourself a tea or a nourishing meal and be mindful of each sip or bite. What do you smell? What does it taste like? What about the texture? Be present.

5. Connect to your senses in nature.

Go for a walk in nature and tune it to your senses. What does the air feel like as it’s entering your body? What can you smell? What can you hear? If you want to go a little further, take off your shoes: how does the earth feel under your feet? Do you feel a shift?
