five ways to get into your body
Feeling anxious about a big meeting tomorrow? Or panicky about an upcoming presentation?
Here are 5 easy fixes to get out of your head and into your body.
1. Stomp your feet
Feeling nervous? Stomp for 2 minutes to feel grounded and ready for action.
2. Strike a power pose
Raise your arms above your head and stand in a power pose for 30 seconds to feel powerful.
3. Body scan
Starting from your toes up to the top of your head, scan your body. Describe how each area feels, such as: cold, energised, relaxed.
4. Stretch
Drop your shoulders, move your head to look over each shoulder for a good stretch. Do this for 1 minute every few hours.
5. Vocalise
Feeling nervous before a presentation? Take 3 deep breaths and vocalise your exhales with a sigh.
