seven steps to get out of your own way

Let's be real: are you standing in your own way?

Limiting beliefs, excuses, and negative self-talk can lead to self-sabotage. Scroll down to change this.

1. Prioritise

Get clear on what's important to you. List what you're working on and rank projects and goals in order of priority.

2. Avoidance

What are the tasks you repeatedly put off, or 'don't have time' for? How important are these tasks?

3. Get honest

If high-priority tasks keep being left unfinished, be honest with yourself. Observe how the thought of taking action makes you feel.

4. Experiment

Start a fresh week with the tasks you keep putting off at the top of your list. Jot down any reasons or excuses that come up to justify procrastination.

5. Fear of failure

Too scared to start incase you don't succeed? This is a common one. Try visualising yourself taking the steps to succeed, including overcoming any obstacles.

6. Strategise

How can you make it easier for yourself? How can you free up more time and energy for what really matters?

7. Enjoy the process

Zoom out. Remember that trying and failing is often better than not trying at all. Don't forget to have fun with your process.
